What is Aaroncon?
Aaroncon is another fun filled four days all about Aaron, sorry its a fun filled four days all about board games organised by a guy called Aaron. Aaroncon takes place in the County South Lecture theatre at Lancaster University. Our aim is to play board games and have all the fun doing it!
What is a superfan ticket?
A superfan ticket is essentially an early bird and available to anyone to purchase from until 31st August (and during relevant promotions), a super fan 4 day ticket grants access to the convention from 10am on the Thursday and offers a discount too.
What kind of games are played at the con?
At Aaroncon, we play all kinds of board, card and tabletop games! From the classics like monopoly to complex strategy games like On Mars or Nucleum, there's something for everyone! We've space for wargames and RPGs too!
Can I bring along my own games?
Yes of course! Please be mindful of where you are leaving your bags/crates/suitcases/trolleys of games to not block entrances, tables or fire exits
What is expected of me as an attendee at Aaroncon?
At Aaroncon, we're all about playing board games and having fun. We ask that you're kind, considerate to all others attendees to make Aaroncon and friendly and welcoming space.
What are the opening times?
Aaroncon is open from 10am on Thursday 7th January 2027 until 8pm on 10th January 2027.
Do the open games areas have opening times?
The gaming spaces are open from 10am on Thursday 7th January 2027 until 8pm on 10th January 2027, so you can game for many many hours (82 hours to be precise) uninterrupted (not recommended).
Can I purchase tickets on the door?
There may be a limited number of tickets available, however, once all tickets have sold out there will be no more available. We highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance.
How do I join a game or find other players?
You can use either the find a game system on the GoGo App. Or you can use one of the 'players wanted' signs, or look out for a players wanted sign in the open gaming areas. Or you can use the Facebook group.
Its important to remember that every game won't be for everyone, and your favourite game may not be for everyone. Aaroncon does not guarantee everyone who brings games to the convention will get them played, or that your favourite ever game will be played.
Can Children attend Aaroncon?
Everyone is welcome at Aaroncon. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and each attendee must have their own ticket. Half price tickets are available for children between the ages of 6 to 15.
Can I keep my lanyard?
Yes of course! We won't ask that you return your Lanyard. A Lanyard + ID Holder+ ticket do cost Aaroncon approximately £1.45 each (which is factored into ticket prices), but we think its something you might like to keep or collect.
Will there be vendors/traders?
The primary focus of Aaroncon is playing board games. Ludus Vulpes will also be in attendance showing games such as Overgrowth, Forest Folk, Disappearing Act, Pete's Plaice, Ducks in a row.
Can I purchase a day ticket?
These will be released sometime in October
Are tickets transferrable or refundable?
Tickets are non-transferrable and non-refundable
Where is Aaroncon?
Aaroncon takes place at Lancaster University in the County South Lecture hall, private dining rooms and lounge
How do I book accomodation?

For any accommodation booked before 1st March, you will recieve a £10 discount per night
That means single rooms £60 per night instead of £70, Double rooms £70 instead of £80.
What food and drink is available?
The venue will be providing a range of hot food, hot drinks sandwiches and snacks in addition to a fully stock bar. For those who have booked accomodation breakfast is included.
Hot food will be served until 9pm. The snack bar (including hot drinks) will be open till midnight.
Breakfast is then served in the morning in MarketPlace from 8am, and then street food will be served via table service/QR codes/the bar from 11am.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
We'd much prefer that you didn't, but recognise that not everyone wants to purchase food on site. But there will be a selection of food options from the bar/table service/QR codes.
For those who have booked accomodation breakfast is included and served from the Marketplace.
Hot food will be served until 9pm. The snack bar (including hot drinks) will be open till midnight.
And we have listed all other nearby places you can purchase food and drink under "restaurants".
You are prohibited from bringing your own alcohol, this must be purchased from the bar, and anyone bringing their own alcohol will be asked to leave the venue
Where is the nearest car park and is it free?
The nearest car park is located on John Creed avenue (124 metres from Aaroncon), other car parking is located on North Drive (approx 200 metres). Please follow the parking signs for payment instructions (card only). Further information on car parking charges can be found here: CAR PARKING
Is there fridge or microwave?
The convention facilities do not have a fridge or microwave, however, at the point of booking on site accommodation you can request a room with access to a fridge and/or microwave
Where is the nearest bus stop?
The nearest bus stop is Lancaster University, Underpass which is a 5 minute walk away (250 metres). Regular buses from Lancaster city centre run every 15 minutes (or more frequently) until late, services include: 1a, 4, 42, 41, 100.
How does the bring and buy work?
For each game you would like to sell in the bring and buy, you'll need to purchase a sticker (available under extras at £1 each). At the convention, you'll recieve stickers to place on your games, with a space for a price, Game name and your contact details. All games are left at owners risk and Aaroncon accepts no responsiblity for games in the bring and buy.
Is there a limit to how many games I can sell in the bring and buy?
No - however, if anyone is seen to be listing an excessive number we will implement a cap per person. Games that are from a shop or business are prohibited for sale in the bring and buy
What time is the bring and buy open?
The bring and buy is open
Thursday 10am - Sunday 3pm
All games must be collected by 3:30pm on Sunday, any games left will be donated to the Charity Raffle - drawn at 4pm on Sunday.
What happens to games I don't collect from the bring and buy?
All games not collected from the bring and buy by 3:30pm on Sunday 10th January, will be added to the charity raffle (drawn at 4pm on Sunday 10th January).
Why is there a bring and buy charge
We believe that bring and buys should be made up of the stuff that actually might sell and be priced to sell, having a small discretionary charge covers the space and table hire, and hopefully encourages everyone to price their games to sell
